The KUHNKE automation platform Arriva is a highly flexible system for mobile applications, ranging from the operator panel over the controller all the way to the actuators. Possible applications include special purpose vehicles, as well as construction and agricultural machines. Basic advantages of the platform are modular design and rugged components that can cope with the harsh operating environment of everyday operation.

The operating system of Arriva offers exactly the right solution for any application. As an example, a mobile PC with touch screen can be fully integrated into the cockpit and allows the operation of even complex processes via a self-explanatory, intuitive user interface. Remote control is possible via a hand-held transmitter or a pocket PC. Precise motion control is achieved via a joystick.

The core of Arriva consists of a wide range of intelligent I/O modules, which do not require any central control unit. Instead, they de-centrally process input signals and provide the actors and drives with the required analogue, digital and PWM signals. Expanding a system only requires adding more modules to control the respective functions.

The individual Arriva modules communicate via the CAN-Bus 2.0B. Dedicated interfaces allow the integration into the vehicle’s electronics via the J1939 protocol, while gateways support communication with devices featuring RS232 or USB interfaces, as well as mobile devices via the GSM cellular network.

A graphical programming system allows programming of the individual control modules and control units without the need of any special skills. This gives the customer the freedom to program and modify his system anytime, without needing the assistance of costly specialists.

The consistent modular structure of Arriva allows adapting the system to just about any task. This provides a high level of personalization and turns Arriva into an ideal automation platform to match any production quantity. In addition, KUHNKE also realizes individual solutions that are tailored to specific customer requirements.
