The future of machine control

Ventura IPC CNC - the future of machine control

Extraordinary solutions usually require specialists forming a team to join their respective expertise. Doing so, KUHNKE combined an IPC with CoDeSys programming, ISG motion kernel and fast EtherCAT communication and came up with a solution which is going to revolutionize the control of machines.

KUHNKE engineers are convinced that hardware based control systems will soon be a matter of the past and have developed a system solution for complex motion control on the basis of a conventional industry PC.

For programming the required motions, the solution uses CoDeSys in combination with a motion kernel contributed by KUHNKE cooperation partner ISG. In this was, a familiar programming system is combined with proven CNC know-how in order to realize even highly complex multi-axis motion control.

Another key technology is EtherCAT, which is used for communication between the I/O modules and the IPC. EtherCAT is as fast as a backplane bus and able to support even extremely fast process cycles without the need to consider limited transmission speeds. In this way, costly control hardware can be eliminated, their intelligence is transferred to the software level and the IPC turns into a cost-effective and highly flexible machine controller.
