For this life-saving function required in operating rooms, KUHNKE has developed a hose clamping unit which offers extreme precision and wear resistance. Precisely tuned solenoid and spring forces guarantee secure clamping of hoses accross the specified temperature range.

This combination of a pressure regulator and a solenoid valve controls the oxygen supply of an incubator used for the pediatric care of premature infants. The fully functional unit includes all required terminals and is fully embedded into the incubator to guarantee the supply of oxygen within specified limits. This customer-specific application required to consider the special requirements of NIST connectors and combine direct venting via the "noise absorber" with a controller/valve combination in an extremely compact way.

This solution is characterized by especially low power consumption and low-noise operation. The custom designed valve control unit uses an electronic circuit to control the supply of oxygen from a bottle to a patient wearing a mask. Since the dosing of oxygen is limited to the phase when the patient is breathing in, the complete system guarantees long-time availability of O²-enriched air.

This customer-specific solution was realized at especially compact dimensions. An innovative solution is the detection of the position of control valve via a microswitch. The especially developed throttle valve controls the oxygen supply to a respiration device of an anesthetic machine. In case of a failure of the electronics of the machine, the anesthetist has the option to interfere manually in order to maintain the oxygen supply of the patient.
